For patients joining us at Somerset Hills Chiropractic for the first time, a chiropractic adjustment might seem intimidating. Our safe, gentle, and effective treatments remove subluxations (aka interferences) in the Central Nervous System, which is the body’s communication system. When subluxations are present, the body and brain are unable to communicate effectively, which can lead to many negative health issues in the various body systems, including the immune system and digestive system. Without those interruptions, the body can function optimally, helping you achieve true health.

Imagine chiropractic like you would building a house. There are specific steps that need to be taken in a certain order if the house is to stand strong. When a house is being built, you don’t put walls up before establishing a solid foundation, or else those walls will eventually become unstable and collapse. Additionally, you can’t put a roof up without study walls or you face the same problem.

Your body requires a strong foundation to reach optimal health and requires a particular health plan to correct and heal itself properly. There are three phases to help you get there:

  1. Relief Chiropractic Care: When a patient comes to us suffering from pain, our top priority is to provide relief for that pain so they can find comfort and feel their best. Some patients find relief in as little as one visit, where others take 2-3 visits per week for 4-12 weeks to achieve real and lasting pain relief.

  2. Corrective/Restorative Chiropractic Care: Tissues and muscles heal more completely during the correcting phase of care, which reduces and prevents the risk of further injury. During the phase, the patient is typically required to visit 4-8 times per month for 6-24 months depending on how severe the issue is.

  3. Wellness Chiropractic Care: Once the body has completely healed, occasional adjustments are an important part of maintaining health and avoiding issues in the future. Based on the patient’s specific goals and lifestyle, we typically see patients 1-4 times per month during this phase. Chiropractic care isn’t just for pain relief – it is for maintaining health and wellness!
