Conditions Affecting Children

Pediatric Chiropractic care provides your child with a strong foundation for their health and wellbeing. Treatment can begin as young as newborns and more than 95% of newborns have misalignments following birth, therefore you can never start chiropractic too early. Our chiropractic practice has years of experience adjusting newborns, so you can rest assured that our child is in great hands.

Our chiropractors specialize in both prenatal and pediatric care and have received specialized training providing them with the training necessary to access and treat the spines of infants. The birthing process can cause extreme physical trauma on both the mother and the infant. Chiropractic care can minimize the trauma on the mother by ensuring her spine and hips are in proper alignment before childbirth and also minimize the trauma on the infant by providing proper spinal alignment as soon as possible.

Spinal adjustments on infants and children can reduce ear/nose/throat infections, colic, and other illnesses. They can also facilitate breast feeding and reduce the severity of sleep disorders and allergies. Pediatric adjustments are our most gentle treatments and require no more pressure than one would use to test the ripeness of a tomato. As infants grow, they become more mobile. It starts with them learning to support their own heads, sitting up right, learning to crawl, walk, and then running. It seems they grow up in the blink of an eye and spinal checks can correct any spinal issues that may present themselves during this fast-paced phase. Other childhood issues including growing pains and bed-wetting can also be a direct result of subluxations in the spine. When corrected with chiropractic adjustments, these behaviors can reduce or even stop altogether.

Other common issues that children face that may be helped by chiropractic include acid reflux, asthma, ADHD, ADD, allergies, colic, earaches, sleep issues, and bed wetting.
