FROZEN SHOULDER

Frozen shoulder applies to a wide variety of restrictive shoulder disorders and can also be referred to as pericapsulitis, periarthritis, obliterative bursitis, and adherent buritis. Regardless of the name, neuro-muscular-skeletal rehabilitation and manipulation of the joint are needed to resolve the lack of mobility.

Frozen shoulder affects roughly 2-3% of the population. The main indicator is decreased mobility and joint pain. It is most commonly diagnosed in people between the ages of 40-70 (predominantly women), and can affect anyone from children to adults.

Despite the fact that there are many causes of frozen shoulder, treatment is straight-forward and the issue can be resolved. Schedule an appointment with us to address your frozen shoulder.

TMJ

The joint that connects the jawbone to the skull is called the temporomandibular joint. Not only is its name long, but so is the list of people who suffer from painful temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), according to the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research -- nearly 10 million people, in fact! Symptoms of TMD include pain in the neck and face, limited jaw movement or locked jaw, dizziness, difficulty chewing or swallowing, painful clicking when moving the mouth, and a change in the way the teeth fit together.

Some patients find chiropractic care provides relief from TMD. With a chiropractic manipulation to the neck and jaw, alignment is improved and muscle tension is relaxed. We also have several exercises we can recommend along with hot and cold treatment and other non-pharmaceutical options. If you are suffering from TMD, send us an appointment request today so we can help ease your jaw pain.

Plantar fasciitis, one of the most common explanations for heel pain, is caused by inflammation to the thick band (plantar fascia). The plantar fascia runs across the bottom of your foot and connects the toes to the heel bone. This condition is most commonly seen in overweight individuals, runners, pregnant women, and those who wear shoes with inadequate support. It typically affects people between the ages of 40-70 and approximately 90% of people recover from plantar fasciitis within a few months with conservative treatment. If you are looking for a natural, non-invasive approach to plantar fasciitis, give chiropractic a try by scheduling an appointment today.

PINCHED NERVE

When a nerve becomes pinched, it means that spasm, injury, and inflammation of the surrounding muscles have caused the nerve to become compressed, which results in pain. A “pinched nerve” is a term that has become a catch-all phrase commonly used to describe the pain associated with a number of issues related to everything from subluxations to tunnel syndromes to referred pain from trigger points. What is called a pinched nerve is typically an inflamed or irritated nerve that is not actually pinched. In most cases, this happens when the joints, muscles, or bones of the spine are out of alignment or not moving properly. Chiropractic care can help correct these issues and our chiropractors are here to relieve your pain. Contact us today!
